Man: I asked to go to Hell cause my best friend is here!Demon: Do you even know why he’s here?
Man: It doesn’t mater! He’s my best friend!
Best Friend: -in a pit saying “F*cked his best friend’s wife”-
Serena:
"Oh hahahaha... I mean... Who hasn't?"
Airyanna Dahlia
"My best friend is not yet married," Lachlan pointed out. "Eh, and his girlfriend is not my type."
Sebastian n'Serena Morningstar"You know, every time you remind me he has a girlfriend, it's... shocking. Like... You'd think that would soften-- I mean, mellow him out a little."
Faustus Blackwood"I also haven't done this, as you know."
Airyanna Dahlia"Eh, someone is being softened by her pressence, and it's not Romain." Tilting his head as he reguarded the sourcerer. "Ye look familier. Have we met?"
Sebastian n'Serena Morningstar"That's Faustus. He's a friend. Sort of," Serena answered. "Well, he's a friend of my husband's. Anyway, she can't be that bad. Your best friend's girl, I mean."
Then she thought about how *she'd* reacted to *her* best friend's wife.
"Or... I don't know, maybe she can. What is she like?"
Airyanna DahliaLachlan suckedin a breathe thorough his teeth. "Eh... she's pretty, enough," his words hesitent. "But she and her mum, don't believe men are competant for anything.Exactly the kind of pussy-power-brandishing bitch that I hate." He spat on the gorund. "But ye ken what they say. If there's something wrong with the bitch, the mum that is, there will be something wrong with the pup."
With a sigh. "But, that being said, she seems too make him happy, so who am I too copmlain? Eh, I just want him too enjoy his life. There's a lot on his soulders. He sould get every once of enjoy mint that he can. Even if it is with a self-important bloody harpy."
Sebastian n'Serena MorningstarThat certainly sounded annoying, Serena thought, but Lachlan's choice of words sounded unnecessarily vicious, even to her. "Wow, you *really* hate this chick," she said. "Like, not to state the obvious, but... wow." She chuckled awkwardly.
Then she blinked and looked at him like she was seeing him for the first time. "You're not... jealous?" she asked. "Sorry...." She shook her head. "It's just, I assumed you were in love with Romain, from the way you talk about him sometimes."
Airyanna DahliaRomain had ears everywhere, he heard this conversation. Frowning. Lachlan, in love with him? Preposterous. He knew he would literally loose his head if he let himself be distracted by something as fanciful as love! Serena, was an excellent mercenary, but had not reached her full potential. To blame was her own ridiculous obsession with love. No wonder, she thought Lachlan's wise devotion to his king looked like love. He laughed to himself and walked on.
Lachlan fidgeted as though he could since Romain's pressence. "Aye. I can see how it looks that way," him words hedging. Hesitently. "Eh, when I love someone, whoever it is I want them to be happy. My personal opinion of their lover's don't matter. I only care how there treated. I could like someone's lover like a brother, but if they turned traitor, I wouldn't hesitate to kill them meself." Suddenly uncomfortable. "Can we, can we change the subject please? I eh, don't want to think about betrayal."
Sebastian n'Serena MorningstarSerena sensed there was something Lachlan wasn't telling her. Maybe it was a holdover from her years as a defense attorney or maybe he was just weird about love in general and she was overthinking it.
"Sure. Why do you want to talk about?"
Airyanna DahliaLachlan casted around his mind for a topic. "Eh... Have ye ever read La Vita Nuova?" he asked, remembering the book he had made fun of Romain for reading recently, as much as he could before Romain had thrown the light volume at his head. "And, eh... did ye... If ye read it, did ye read the paragraphs that held yer hand through the poems, or did ye just stick to the poetry itself?"
Sebastian n'Serena MorningstarSerena made a face. "Sorry, I lost patience for Dante about halfway through Inferno. So yes, I've read his other works, but...." She shook her head, sending blonde curls bouncing slightly from side to side. "They weren't engaging enough for me to discuss."
Airyanna DahliaLachlan was yet impressed, that Serena was familiar enough with Dante to be distainful of him. "Yer a marvel, ye are," he said, grinning. "Eh, let's not talk. There's something I wish too discus with ye and yer husband, if'n ye be willin'. Come with me." He took her hand and led her, back too her own nightclub.
Sebastian n'Serena Morningstar"You want to discuss something, but you don't want to talk?" Serena asked, allowing herself to be tugged along.
When they got to Lux, Lucifer was more than happy to receive their guest. "Ah, Lachlan!" He clasped Lachlan's free hand. "
Lovely time
the other night, wasn't it?"
Airyanna Dahlia"That's why I'm here," Lachlan said. "If'n yer willin', I'd like to make that a regular thing. Eh, but I need both yer consent and yer wife's. Wouldn't dream of foolin' around with someone else's man without permission," he winked. Bringing the hand holding Serena's forward, as if in a dance. "What d'ye thing, luv? Eh--I--I know I cannae have ye, but would ye allow me to date yer husband?"
Sebastian n'Serena MorningstarSerena blinked at Lachlan. That was a rather elegant solution, wasn't it? If Lachlan was Lucifer's boyfriend, no-one would question his presence at Lux, and it would be totally normal for the three of them to hang out, wouldn't it?
"Yeah, o-of course," Serena stammered. "Come around anytime."
"Lovely!" Lucifer clapped his hands together once, then put an arm round Lachlan's shoulders and walked him to Luci and Serena's bed. Serena smiled at them and took the elevator back downstairs to mingle.
